A Day without Mr. Schick

Mr. Schick wasn't in class today so our assignment was posted on his blog and all it really said was to study for the exam. So let's get this show on the road. I'm going to discuss things that I think are on the exam. Let's start off with population pyramids. A population pyramid is used to analyze growth (or decline) of fertility mortality and migration in cities. It has three basic shapes: the Xmas tree, the box and the cup. The Xmas tree is for a developing nation with slow growth rate, high birth rate and short life expectancy. The box is for a developed nation with slow growth, low infant mortality and long life expectancy. The cup is for a developed nation with negative growth which includes: low birth rate, shrinking population and long life expectancy. We're probably going to have some questions involving Socrates and Ancient Greece, so I recommend reviewing that. There could be a question or few on think global act local so review that as well. Basically review everything we discussed because all of it will probably be on the exam.
